Plot[]

Leon and Pow find a mysterious gem called "The Candid Candace" that turns animals into Canimals, when a crime group of bears want to find it first. So it's up to the canimals, along with newly can-transformed Woo-ang to use the gem before the gem disappears at the stroke of 3 am.

Production[]

The film started development in 1992, when Kim Film (later renamed Vooz in 2009) was looking for ideas to create their first movie, since their founding on Korean Thanksgiving 1991. The CEO and founder of the company, Calvin Kim, wanted to do an animated film featuring animals who do extreme sports. he decided to call them "Extremeimals", and decided to call the movie, "극도로 야수 (Extremely Beastly)". And so, the film started production on January 1, 1993, and would be distributed by Sanrio. The film was doing smoothly, until 2006. After 13 Years of productions, Calvin Kim wanted to change the idea. Why? Here's the story. One day during the production of the movie, he was eating cup noodles with a can of tuna for lunch, and he suddenly thought "I should put my characters in tins cans", and immediately decided to name them "Canimals". So, they ditched the extreme sports idea, and the old nine characters. With new ones. Bob, Chow, Paul, Mimi, Cocoa, Chen, Toki, Nia, and Cal. To test how the characters looked, in 2007, a short called "Balloon" was created, where Bob, Nia, Pow, and others play with balloons. The short was shown on February 16, 2008. But in that year, Medusa Film, an Italian film company, joined the film, and so did Focus Features UK. Sanrio also left that year. But the biggest challenge was in 2009. Varsity Oversea Offices of Seoul (VOOZ), the oversea film studio of Varsity Pictures, a division of AVAV Corporation (Until 2008), bought Kim Film, and renamed it to VOOZ Character System. Also that year, CETV wanted the company to produce a short called "Curious". And they did. The film was completed in December 2012, and was released on June 23, 2013, having a 20 Year production. Bob would become Ato, Chow would become Oz, Paul would become Uly, Cocoa would become Pow, Chen would become Fizzy, and Cal would become Leon.
