Luke Skywalker is dead. Killed by a young Force user who once thought him her own father. But the galaxy hasn't the time to mourn. The war, its course redirected from a mere political stalemate between the New Republic and the Galactic Dominions to a full-scale massacre orchestrated by the Lords of the Extant, comes to a devastating head. The Galactic Senate has collapsed. Worlds that had aligned themselves with Dominions now suffer oppressive rule under the new regime. With a de facto new Empire in its ascendency, political and military authority among its resisters has once more fallen upon a new band of rebels drawn from both Republic and Dominions ranks and led by former Senator Rey Organa.
Ei, once a lonely orphan from a backwater world on the Outer Rim, is now a victim to the "Force Plague", an anomaly in her Force sensitivity that allows her to subconsciously affect the wills and actions of those around her; having to contend with the fact that she may be among the most innately-powerful Force users in history, Ei is caught between joining the ranks of the Extant, and allying with Nin Marukak, the last-remaining Jedi Knight and former student of Luke Skywalker. The man she murdered.
The war for the galaxy will end, and it may take what was left of the old ways with it. From the ashes, a new order will rise.
