Rio 3 is American computer-animated comedy film produced by 20th Century Animation. It is directed by Carlos Saldanha and screenplay by Jenny Bicks and Yoni Brenner, and a sequel to 2014's Rio 2 and 2011's Rio. The film is scheduled for release on February 9th 2024 by Walt Disney Studios.

Production
Director Carlos Saldanha has kept the possibility for a Rio 3 open. He has stated, "Of course, I have a lot of stories to tell, so we're [starting to] prepare for it, if my schedule clears up.”
Release
Rio 3 is scheduled to be released February 9th 2024 by Blue Sky Studios. Confirmed on January 12th 2022.
Plot
Now living a happy family life in the Amazon Jungle Blu and Jewel cherishing and learning about what it is like to see there three kids Carla, Bia, and Tiago grow up in the wild. Rafeal, Nico, Pedro, and Luis all decided to permanently move in to the jungle for good to stay near Blu and Jewel and throw a huge house warming celebration for the four of them. The next day Eduardo the leader of the Spix macaw tribe announces that Blu is next in line for the leader role and everyone is overjoyed by this while Blu is very excited but very skeptical about being the leader and tells jewel that he might not be good enough to be a leader, but jewel tell Blu about all the great things he did to save the jungle in the second movie which gives him the confidence to be the leader of the tribe until they are informed by Roberto that Eduardo is dying. While at Eduardo’s tree everyone is circled around Eduardo’s death bed he tells Blu that he is going to be a great leader and to not let him down and Blu promises him then Eduardo dies and the whole jungle has a big funeral for him.
