Oobi: Reunion is an upcoming 2022 live-action film based on the now-ended series of the same name, without "Reunion". The film will be directed by Steven Spielberg, and produced by Josh Selig. This film is produced by Columbia Pictures and distributed by Nickelodeon Movies.
Synopsis
After graduating from college, Oobi receives an envelope in his apartment mailbox from his best friend, Kako, who he hasn't seen in over eleven years ever since Kako moved away from Oobi's home neighborhood during their elementary school days. The envelope states that his parents were kidnapped from the retirement home by an unknown figure named "The Snatcher", the main antagonist of the film, who is also out to get Kako for revenge, but for no reason. Approving the letter, Oobi sets out on a journey to save his friend, meeting old and new pals along the way, and battling hordes of gangsters and mad scientists who work for The Snatcher. Will Oobi save Kako's life?
