Peppa Pig: The Movie (also known as Peppa Pig: The Icelandic Adventure! in the UK) is an upcoming british adventure-comedy musical fantasy family animated film directed by Neville Astley and Mark Baker and co-directed by Tim O'Sullivan. It is based on the 2004 animated preschool series, Peppa Pig, It will be released on June 23, 2021, as part of the 16th anniversary of Peppa Pig.

This will be the first feature film from Karrot Animation and the first part was animated by Astley Baker Davies.

The film stars a new cast replacing some voices (except John Sparkles, Richard Ridings, Oliver May, David Graham, and Sarah Ann Kennedy). There will be a screenplay by Astley Neville and Phil Hall

Plot[]

The opening starts with Peppa talking about being a movie star, and her first full appearance in a feature film, She said it's all about herself. The film starts with Peppa and George waking up and getting ready for their day, They jump on Mummy and Daddy, They wake up. Peppa sings "Morning Routine", They go to see television in the living room. They saw the news about a train trip to Iceland for free, Peppa said they need to get tickets to the train. However, They have the ticket in their cereal box. So they are hyped for the train trip, Ungfrú Kanína comes to the house and takes them on the trip. However, Peppa and her family fall off the train. They don't know how to get noticed, Daddy has a map to Iceland. they sing "R-r-r-oad Trip!" and made it to Mount Everest, with Ms. Cat. She said they are miles away from Iceland, They walk to the next stop at the bus and sing "We're Off to See Iceland". They meet a ton of Icelandic people, Saying hello. They don't respond however because driving is a lot harder in Iceland. They wanted to go to the mountain. So they have to walk again, Going to the next and last stop. They have made it to Iceland, sing a song called Bing Bong Boo, but for Iceland people only. They meet a soldier, Miss Rabbit, Mr. Panda, and Grandpa Pig. They all talk about their adventure and sing their final song, and laugh and fall on the floor.

Campaign[]

Karrot Animation made a Twitter account for the movie (@PeppaMovie), The official Peppa Pig Twitter said "We are getting a MOVIE!🍿In theaters Summer 2021!" which showed a sneak peek of the movie. The first trailer was posted on YouTube after the tweet started getting popular. On the Peppa Pig website (peppapig.com), There can be seen a news article about the Peppa Pig movie. at the end, There can be a hashtag saying #PeppaMovie. Scholastic will make 3 books titled "Iceland, Here We Come!", "Next Stop, Iceland!" and "Iceland, Here We Are!", Which was will be combined into a book entitled "The Iceland Adventure!". At the bottom of the YouTube section, There can be a sneak peek of the movie together with clips from previous episodes. The People website stated more about the movie. Proofing it will be an adventure about Iceland.

Production[]

Peppa Pig: The Movie was long-planned; in 2017 after Peppa Pig: My First Cinema Experience, The creators decided to come up with something and think about what will happen next, Neville Astley came up with Peppa Pig: The Movie. In 2018, Entertainment One greenlit the animated Peppa Pig movie in production. Neville watched LazyTown and given an idea for the movie, about Peppa Pig doing something more cinematically-consequential and inspiring without losing the charm of the franchise. "To do a big 110-minute feature film about the Pig family going to Iceland, which will be the biggest adventure we made for the series" Neville Astley accepted the voices of Laurel Dearing, Tim Hautekiet, Ashley Tisdale, Scarlett Johansson, Paul ter Voorde, Guðmundur Þór Kárason, Ólafur Haukur Símonarson, Guðlaug María Bjarnadóttir, and Alex L'Abbé.

Writing[]

Writing on the film began in early October 2019. the script was finished in late 2020.

The movie's animation is animated using CelAction2D.
