The Chipmunks and the Chipettes Join the Disney Family is an upcoming Japanese-American animated jukebox musical science fantasy crossover film inspired by the characters from the '80s series Alvin and the Chipmunks created by Bagdasarian Productions. The film will feature the voices of Michael Crawford, Joanna Lumley, Demi Lovato, Megan Hilty, Santino Fontana, Eric Idle, and Jason David Frank. It will be directed by Testuya Nomura and Takeshi Nozue, and animated by Visual Works.
Synopsis idea
It follows the Chipmunks (brothers Alvin, Simon, and Theodore), along with their sweethearts The Chipettes (sisters Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor) witnessing serious danger due to the evil army of Disney Villains led by Prince Hans who have successfully killed (and ultimately destroyed) Dave Seville. Word of the murder reaches King Mickey and Queen Minnie Mouse, the wealthy monarchs of Walt Disney World who grant their wishes and welcome them in the Magic Kingdom as their new home. With the help of all their newfound friends, Johnny 5, Toby, Ian, Julie, the Chipmunks and the Chipettes fight back, and King Mickey and Queen Minnie recognize their valiant efforts.
Plot idea
Overture/Once Upon a Time
Johnny 5's Arrival
Eventually, the Number 5 finds himself near the Angel Grove suburbs, the neighborhood of Alvin and the Chipmunks, and their sweethearts, the Chipettes. When the robot is found in the garage of the Seville House, Theodore is the first to befriend Number 5, as they bring him inside the house, and then he proceeds to ask for "input", which he gets from all the books he can find. After he is done with the books, Number 5 craves more, so Brittany suggests TV, and it calms their new friend down.
Poison Apple Club
Meanwhile, a revenge-lusted Prince Hans Westergaard of the Southern Isles has gone to the Poison Apple Club, where he encounters a slew of Disney Villains. Although he twists the truth that Dave is the Chipmunks' abusive father who especially keeps treating Alvin inappropriately, and threatening to dump them for no good reason, Hans convinces the villains to attack him in a fight for the Chipmunks and the Chipettes' "happily ever after". Consumed by their same hatred towards Dave as Hans', the villains feel their side of the story has never been told and now the time has come to ready their dark magic, skills and weapons for their torches-and-pitchforks "rescue mission" to save start the war and save Alvin and his band-mates from abuse and slavery, and bring them back to foster care.
Dave's Death
Suddenly, Hans and his minions arrive in Angel Grove, invade the Chipmunks and the Chipettes' neighborhood and for a time before they start attacking the house, Dave realizes what's going on. As they storm the house, breaking open the windows and doors, Hans and his henchmen engage Dave in a scuffle, demanding the young chipmunks away from him. Hans pursues Dave upstairs and shoots dark magic at him with his sword to prevent him from nearing his chipmunks. Dave grabs a makeshift club, during which he breaks a glass hole from the container, and fights back in order to reclaim the kids and tries to knock Hans's magic shield away. Angered in retaliation, Hans taunts Dave, mutilates his arms and legs, and pins him with his magic sword. Finally on Hans' whim, the other villains launch a huge magic artillery shell, a superweapon as high-explosive as fireworks that strikes out Dave suffering the wrath of the supreme dark magic from Hans's sword, causing incomplete destruction to the house and sending him into 71st floor of Angel Grove's tallest skyscraper: the U.S. Bank Tower; packed with fireworks and explosives, resulting in Dave exploding into smithereens, destroying him forever in a fiery display of death. With their neighborhood no longer what it used to be thanks to Hans and the other villains, the Chipmunks and Chipettes all decide to escape on the GMC Vandura Cargo Van that was once owned by Nova Laboratories with the robots to the NASADA complex for shelter.
Following the murder that was successfully committed by Prince Hans and the other villains, an extraterrestrial spacecraft has crashed into some power lines. NASADA agents convince the police that the craft is theirs and take it to their base, intending to study it, but the NASADA workers find the ship seamless and impenetrable. Outside the NASADA research facility, Dr. Nigel Channing, NASADA's chairman, finds the Chipmunks and the Chipettes grieving over Dave's destruction at the hands of Hans' villain army. Dr. Channing asks them what happened to Dave and their home, and Alvin tells him of Dave's death in a senseless act and that they're now homeless. Dr. Channing knows this day will come, he decides to take them inside the NASADA base until someone more suitable can adopt them. Then the orphans and the robots accept his offer and go with him to the base, where he gives the young chipmunks a bedroom filled with lots of free toys to stay in during their visit and a special exclusive NASADA cap. In the meantime, Inspector Henri Jamal has well captured photos of the incident, and breaks the news flash that Dave was finally killed and their house at last was destroyed last night. An ash casket that contains Dave's disintegrated corpse is taken to the Chapel of the Pines Crematory.

Brittany calls for Alvin to come back ("Alvin! ALVIN! ALLLLVVIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNN!!!!"), but it doesn't work, leaving her heartbroken (to the point of tears). As Yen Sid uses his magic to bring Simon, Theodore, the Chipettes and everyone else back to Disney Castle to say their tearful goodbyes to Johnny 5, Alvin finds himself back on Endor, where he is found by Wicket and Kneesaa, and he keeps hearing Johnny 5's voice. Unsure of what's going on, the two Ewoks follow Alvin to wherever Johnny 5's voice is leading him.
Back in Disney Castle, Simon, R2-D2, BB-8 and the Stooges are having trouble trying to bring Max back online. As she pleads for Max to wake up, Brittany's tears fall onto the robot's head. Slowly, Max wakes up, but with a different personality. Yen Sid believes that Brittany's tears gave Max live, just as the lightning bolt brought Johnny 5 to live. Alas though, Max is having trouble finding Alvin, until Zordon's spirit appears before them and tells them Alvin is on Endor. With determination greater than the others', Brittany orders Max to fly them to Endor. Meanwhile, Alvin, in the company of Wicket and Kneesaa, finds a pyramid-like structure, and ordering the two Ewoks to stay outside, Alvin goes inside.
With Brittany staying behind, the other Chipmunks and Chipettes follow Alvin's trail with R2 in the lead. Meanwhile, Alvin finds a holographic message a man named Dr. Newton Crosby, the man who originally invented the SAINT robots aka Johnny 5 and the Three Stooges, and this magical pyramid was where they originated from. Alvin then stumbles upon golden mechanical parts for a 6th golden version of the robots. It was to be the perfect fighting machine, but was deemed a failure, for the battle against evil demands more than metal parts and computer circuits; it required the powers of the keyblade and the unlimited powers of the force, which Alvin now has.
Outside the pyramid, Simon, Theodore and the Chipettes arrive and find Wicket and Kneesaa outside. The young Ewoks tell their friends that Alvin is inside as they head back to their village. Inside the pyramid, they find Alvin constructing the golden SAINT robot, in hopes of somehow reviving Johnny 5. Simon, being skeptical as always, doesn't believe it's possible. Jeanette opens a communication link to Brittany, who pleads for Alvin to come back with them, before she is cut off.
Meanwhile, military units of the Galactic Empire (such as Imperial Stormtroopers) appear and attempt to capture the Chipmunks and Chipettes. Alvin finishes rebuilding the golden robot, adding in Johnny 5's red bandana to go around his neck, and starts charging it with energy as the others are captured. Alvin groans as the golden robot does not move, and with Hans' men gathering around him, Alvin screams his lungs out as Johnny 5's spirit leaves Alvin's body, reverting him back to his true form, and trefers to the golden robot's body. Unconscious, Alvin along with the Chipettes and his brothers find that Hans is bent on revenge against Dave for reclaiming them, "abusing" them and "stealing" their "happily ever after", and finally murdered him as they escape outside the pyramid.

Main characters
- The Chipmunks and the Chipettes: Some of the main protagonists of the film, they a mega-musical group made up of The Chipmunks (Alvin, Simon, and Theodore) and The Chipettes (Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor). After their original manager Dave Seville was murdered in the fireworks explosion by Prince Hans Westergaard of the Southern Isles (who thought Dave was still abusing Alvin psychologically and holding him hostage in his old house) and his Disney Villain army with the giant missile, they started living up a new life together in Disney Castle as princes and princesses, now under the more proper care of King Mickey and Queen Minnie, Toby and Julie.
- Alvin Seville: The Chipmunk on vocals and guitar. An emotional roller coaster, Alvin's enthusiasm is boundless and his despair is bottomless. His mood changes when he witnesses Dave's destruction caused by Prince Hans' villain army. Usually doesn’t like anyone touching his signature red cap. When Johnny 5 is dying, he transfers his programming into Alvin, turning him into a robotic chipmunk (appearance is similar to Robomunk), causing him to leave his comrades and find himself on Endor where he finds the golden robot’s parts he eventually uses to rebuilt Johnny 5 and transfer his programming into it inside the pyramid, changing Alvin back to his true form. Alvin is the love interest of Brittany, and the feeling is mutual.
- Simon Seville: The Chipmunk on vocals and bass guitar. In addition to having an IQ just north of Einstein, Simon possesses a very dry sense of humor as well as a keen wit. His chess master mind allows him to anticipate Alvin's hairbrained schemes (Simon's phrase, not Alvin's) and devise a solution that is inevitably required. In the end Simon loves Alvin, although he secretly worries that they share the same gene pool. Simon is the love interest of Jeanette and the feeling is mutual.
- Theodore Seville: The Chipmunk on vocals and drums. The child of innocence, Theodore is shy, loving, sensitive, gullible, trusting and naive. In short, he is an easy target for Alvin's manipulations. In fact, Theodore often holds the swing vote between his two brothers' choices of action. Simon appeals to Theodore's better nature while Alvin goes straight to bribery. Eleanor is his love interest.
- Brittany Miller: The Chipette on vocals and tambourine. Brittany is the lead singer and the dazzling center of her own universe. Though she may appear self-center, emotional, vain and self-absorbed, she also cares for her two sisters. Though she tries not to admit it, Brittany is in love with Alvin. After her old are damaged, she wears a pink sleaveless top, a pink dress, pink Skechers crocs (similar to Kairi’s choice of footwear), and a pink sun visor.
- Jeanette Miller: The Chipette on vocals and keytar, Jeanette is the group's "absent minded professor". She often is so caught up in contemplating the universe that she forgets the simple matters of life like not tripping over her own feet. She can generally be found with her shoelaces untied or her buttons askew, and unlike her sister Brittany, Jeanette knows she is not her looks. Jeanette has a major crush on Simon, but is awfully shy about it.
- Eleanor Miller: The Chipette on vocals and keyboards. Logical, organized and extremely maternal, Eleanor exudes a sense of calm that soothes her two sisters' frenetic nature. Eleanor is the chubbiest of her sisters, but she embraces "living large" and is a mini-Olympiad in any field of sport.
- Johnny 5: Originally known as SAINT Prototype No. 5, he is one of five robots invented by Nova Robotics Corporation, who was brought to life by a lightning bolt. Now he spends time with The Chipmunks and the Chipettes, albeit sometimes causing trouble for them because of his naivete, his unmatched strength, and thrist for knowledge from books or TV.
- R2-D2: Another one of Johnny 5’s partners, from another galaxy. Usually known as "R2" for short, he becomes best friends with Johnny who can translate what he’s saying, or beeping.
- R2-KT: Another one of Johnny 5's partners, and R2-D2's love interest. She's also part of Astro Megaship's astromech droid crew.
- Max: The computer/robotic pilot that commands a Trimaxion Drone Ship from the planet Phaelon. He is effectively the electronic brain/personality of the ship, much like the probes NASADA launches to photograph distant stars, planet, etc. His original purpose was to collect data and specimens from other planets and return them to his point of origin, Phaelon, for study. Equipped with a faster than light-speed drive of an undisclosed nature and time travel function, this allowed Max to return samples exactly as found without a second missing in-between abduction and returning, meaning he does not disturb the environment he came to observe.

- King Mickey Mouse: The king of Disney Kingdom. King Mickey is a wise and just ruler. He has been a student under the great sorcerer Yen Sid and wields great magic which he uses as a last resort if something bad is about to happen.
- Queen Minnie Mouse: The queen of Disney Kingdom and King Mickey's wife. Queen Minnie is a kind and understanding soul. Usually takes charge whenever King Mickey is absent.
- Pluto: King Mickey's pet dog, whom he is fiercely loyal to.
- Figaro: Queen Minnie's kitten.
- Millie and Melody Mouse: Queen Minnie's nieces.
- Donald Duck: The royal magician, and head butler of Disney Castle, a loyal majordomo to King Mickey. Donald is a short-tempered, powerful magician who sometimes messes up his spells, but cares deeply for his friends.
- Daisy Duck: Queen Minnie's lady-in-waiting and best friend.
- Captain Goofy: Captain of the royal Paladins of Disney Castle. Despite his position as a knight, Goofy dislikes using weapons, instead wielding a simple shield, and prefers to avoid fighting whenever possible. But despite his clumsiness and simple-mindedness, he is an eternal optimist who takes life in stride. He has surprisingly accurate intuitive skills, often noticing things that others miss.
- Cuckoo-Loca: Queen Minnie's and Daisy's bird friend who lives inside a cuckoo clock inside Disney Castle.
- Horace Horsecollar: A loyal royal advisor and counselor to King Mickey.
- Lieutenant Clarabelle Cow: Goofy's lieutenant.
- Rescue Rangers: A quintet team who due to their size makes them the perfect detectives. It's made up of Disney Castle's engineers and Alvin, Simon and Theodore's uncles Chip 'n Dale, and their friends Gadget, Monterey Jack, and Zipper.
- Chip 'n Dale: The operators of Disney Castle and Alvin, Simon and Theodore's fun-loving new uncles. Chip is smart and can be strict. He does know how to have fun and gets revenge on whoever messes with him or his brother Dale. Dale is a little witty and the dumb one of the two. He can be lazy and loves to relax rather than be active like Chip. Alvin and Simon take after their Uncle Chip in that Alvin likes to have fun and Simon prefers to be serious, whereas Theodore takes after their uncle Dale. Chip wears a fedora and a bomber jacket and frequently uses rope to lasso or swing to other spots. Dale wears a red and yellow Hawaiian shirt and is known to be a bit of a prankster like his nephew Alvin.

- Roger Rabbit: The royal jester of Disney Castle. A frantic over-anxious character who often stutters while screaming, a white clownish rabbit with a gap between his front teeth. One of his famous traits is his voice, "P-b-b-b-b-bleeeease!". Like most, Roger is very loyal to his friends.
- Jessica Rabbit: Roger's wife and one of Disney Castle's maidservants.
- Jiminy Cricket: The royal chronicler and journalist of Disney Castle.
- Elliott the Dragon: A big green and purple dragon who loves to play with children. Has the ability to become invisible. He enjoys playing with The Chipmunks and Chipettes. Whenever King Mickey needs to go somewhere, Elliott is there to help him or anyone else. Likes playing tricks on enemies with his abilities.

- Zordon of Eltar (不思議仙人バーザ Fushigi Sennin Bāza, "Mysterious Sage Barza"): The mentor of the Power Rangers of MMPR-PRIS from the planet Eltar. He saw his death in a vision long before Rita Repulsa (魔女バンドーラ Majo Bandōra, "Witch Bandora") escaped her dumpster, and was prepared for it, as his energy destroyed the United Alliance of Evil. Now, throughout the film, Zordon appears as a spirit periodically, giving advice and later on, told the main characters and their Disney Castle allies of a much greater darkness. Zordon also made a prophecy that when the twenty-three sub-crystals of the Disney Princesses are brought back together, a miracle will happen (it was later revealed to be the reawakening of Titanus).
- Yen Sid: A revered sorcerer who instructed his neighbor King Mickey in the use of magic. Donald and Goofy especially show him tremendous respect.
- Merlin: A great wizard whom the Chipmunks and Chipettes sometimes seek advice from whenever Yen Sid is not available.

Leanbow joins with Brightstar in her four-legged configuration, becoming Wolf Warrior Centaur (ブレイブケンタウロス BureibuKentauros, "BraveKentauros"); Leanbow replaces Brightstar's head. With the Mystic Force Wolf Warrior's incantation "Galwit Prifior Ultimas" (「ルーマ・ゴール・ゴル・ゴンガ」 "Rūma Gōru Goru Gonga", "'Luuma Goolu Golu Gonga'"), Brightstar becomes a suit of armor around Leanbow and becomes Wolf Unizord (ブレイブカイザー BureibuKaizā, "BraveKaiser").
- Daggeron: The Mystic Force Solaris Knight (天空勇者マジシャイン Tenkū Yūsha MajiShain, "Heavenly Hero MagiShine") who wields the power over the Dazzle of the Sun (輝く太陽のエレメント Kagayaku Taiyō no Eremento, "Shining Solar Element").
- Udonna: The Mystic Force White Ranger (白の魔法使いマジマザー Shiro no Mahōtsukai MajiMazā, "White Mage MagiMother"), Leanbow's husband, and Bowen's mother who wields the power over the Flurry of Snow (煌く氷のエレメント Kirameku Kōri no Eremento, "Sparkling Ice Element").
- Xander Bly: The Mystic Force Green Ranger (緑の魔法使いマジグリーン Midori no Mahōtsukai MajiGurīn, "Green Mage MagiGreen") who wields the power over the Strength of the Trees (唸る大地のエレメント Unaru Daichi no Eremento, "Howling Earth Element"). His Mystic Titan from is Mystic Minotaur (マジタウロス MajiTaurosu, "MagiTaurus"), the largest and strongest of his fellow Mystic Titans, being twice as tall as the average Mystic Titan. In his summonable form of Mystic Minotaur, Xander wields Taurus Axe in battle. When combining, he forms most of Mystic Dragon, forming the body, arms, and legs, with his Taurus Axe then combining with Madison's Mermaid Shield to form Mystic Dragon Tail (マジドラゴンテイル MajiDoragon Teiru, "MagiDragon Tail"). For Mystic Megazord, he forms the head, arms, and legs, and the Mystic Dragon Tail combines with Dragon Lancer to form Titan Saber, with Taurus Axe forming its hilt.

In her summonable form of Mystic Fairy, Vida Rocca wields Fairy Blades (フェアリーカッター Fearī Kattā, "Fairy Cutter") wings and with her spell "Mysto Sperium" (「マージ・ジー・マジーロ」 "Māji Jī Majīro", "'Maagi Jii Magiiro'") can convert herself into Mystic Ball Mode (マジレンジャーボール Majirenjā Bōru, "Magiranger Ball") to be thrown at opponents (such as Drizella and Lady Tremaine), which the others use in the Mystic Shoot (マジシュート Magi Shūto, "Magi Shoot") finisher. When combining, she forms Mystic Dragon's head and Titan Megazord's chest cavity.

When combining, she forms Mystic Dragon's tail and the front portions of Titan Megazord's boots, with the Mermaid Shield on her back combining with Xander's Taurus Axe to form Mystic Dragon's, while her Mermaid Trident combines with Bowen's Phoenix Sword to form the Dragon Lancer. The Dragon Lance then combines with the Mystic Dragon Tail to make Titan Megazord's Titan Saber.
