Doki Doki Literature Club! Teaser Trailer #1 (2024)

[The scene starts with the Sony logo, then fades it with the Columbia Picture logo, then fades it with Annapurna Picture, and fades it with Team Salvato Picture. The scene fades to a street where the protagonist is walking alone, looking down at a piece of paper in his hand. Suddenly, he stops and looks up, noticing a sign for the literature club at his school.]

Sayori (O.S): "Join the literature club."

Protagonist: Uh, okay?

[The scene changes to the protagonist entering the literature club room, where he is greeted by four girls, each with their own unique personalities.]

Sayori: Everyone! A new member is here!

Natsuki: Are you serious about bringing a boy?

Yuri: Welcome to the literature club.

Monika: We're excited to have you join us.

[The protagonist is nervous.]

Protagonist: Okay, okay, this club... is full of....incredibly...cute girls.

[Four girls are concerned, and the scene changes, showing the protagonist trying to navigate his way through conversations about literature and poetry with the girls, feeling out of his element but intrigued by their passion.]

Monika: Don't worry, we're all here to help each other grow as writers and readers.

Sayori: Yeah, we're all really supportive of each other here.

[The scene fades to black while the protagonist knocks on Sayori's door.]

Protagonist: Sayori, it's time to festival here, and I brought cookies for you.

[The protagonist opens the door with shocked eyes and drops the plate of cookies on the ground, seeing Sayori hanging from the ceiling.]

Protagonist: Okay, this is not what I expected at all.

[The title appears as "This is..." The scene changes; Yuri's obsession with knives is becoming more and more apparent as she starts to bring them to school with her.]

Natsuki: Yuri, are you okay? Bringing knives to school is not safe.

Yuri: Oh, I just find them fascinating, that's all.

[The tension between the two girls continues to rise as Yuri's behavior becomes increasingly erratic. The title is "Your Reality." The scene change reveals Monika manipulating the game's code, causing glitches and distortions in the world around them.]

Protagonist: What is happening? This doesn't feel real.

Monika: Don't worry, I'm just trying to make this world a better place for us.

Monika: I have, and I didn't like what I saw. That's why I'm taking matters into my own hands now.

[A funny scene, like Monika accidentally tripping over a chair, breaks the tension with a music stop.]

Monika: I can't control everything, you know.

Protagonist: So… You're the witch of magic tricks?

Monika: Not quite, but I do have a few tricks up my sleeve.

Protagonist: I guess I'll have to keep my guard up around you then.
